Tell Me More!

Hello!

More than 70 million businesses use Facebook. If you ever needed a place to find a potential client, social media is it. How you find prospects on social media, however, needs to be a fine-tuned strategy.  As an Online Business Manager, you know that a business owner or manager needs your systemization, organization and big-picture guidance, but relaying the message takes a careful approach. Here’s how we go about approaching potential clients on social media.

Social Media Star

It’s hard to find quality clients on social media if you’re not active on the platforms. High-end clients want an expert to help develop their social media strategies, so if your last post if from 18 months ago, you may need more help than you can offer.

  • Be consistent with your message
  • Engage regularly with your fans and followers
  • Do more than push content out. Ignite a conversation

Offer advice, not a commercial

Before you go in for the hard sale, find a way to connect with prospects in non-threatening ways. Facebook groups are a great way to connect with future clients. Rather than promote yourself directly, start a conversation. Offer advice, answer questions, or guide people to helpful resources you use. Gaining a prospect’s trust is a necessary step before they sign on for your services.

Be useful

When you post to your own social media platforms, offer useful content. Don’t post for the sake of posting; post because you have something to share that will help your clients. You don’t have to host a 10-minute Facebook live. Sharing relevant blogs or industry-specific stats can keep you relevant.

Be a giver

Social media is a great place to gather information that will boost your business. In order to find strong clients, you need to offer more of this content than you take. Entrepreneurs are constantly asking questions, and you have the answers.

Have a great response system

Potential clients want to feel valued, so when someone asks a question or comments on a post, respond in a timely manner. High-end clients will expect a quick acknowledgement when asking about your services, so employ a system that engages immediately, like a chatbot.

Show love

Be sure to highlight your clients’ success on social media. As you grow as an OBM, you become a strong social media influencer. Potential clients recognize how you promote current clients and want in on the love.

Use your true voice

In order to find quality clients, you must be yourself. Be true to your business voice and for what your company stands. Don’t take this as a suggestion to jump into a heated politics discussion on Facebook, but honor who you are when you post and engage with clients.

Social media is a comfortable platform to meet potential clients. Offer advice, provide useful information, and always be consistent with who you are. As you engage in the conversation, you’ll find natural ways to suggest your services.

As much potential as there is to grow through social media, you know you can’t be available 24/7. In order to have the best approach to engage with potential clients, you’ll need to delegate some of tasks to teammates.
